The D-Day documentary

Today we saw a documentary where Steven Spielberg, the director of “Saving private Ryan” explains his film, with the D-Day fighters’ experiences. Spielberg’s father was one of them: he didn’t want that his family, especially his son, knows about war.
Thanks to the fighters’ interviews, we can know what D-Day was: one of the most different, heroic  humans’ mission. The soldiers didn’t know why they had to fight, in a group of eight, to risk their lifes, for safe only a man, so they always helped each others. They didn’t know why they were in war. And nobody can even imagine what to be at war means.
