Beowulf and Vercelli Book

Beowulf and Vercelli Book, one of the most important manuscript, are two prominent literary works.

There are some differences and similarities between them.

The themes that figure in the two works are the difference: Beowulf concerns the deeds of the Scandinavian Prince, so it’s a work of adventure; the Vercelli Book, instead, contains six religion poems.

The similarities are the language, the Old English, and the form: they are two manuscripts, because they have been written before the print was born, in the 15th century (1455).
