Two important manuscript
This morning we have talked about the Vercelli book and Beowulf, an epic poem. This two composition are both manuscripts, because they were written before the invention of printing.
The Vercelli book contains six religious poems and some prose pieces, while the poem describes the deeds of the Scandinavian Prince.
Although there are differences between them, there is also an important similarity: the language is the same, the Anglo-Saxon English.
